Heroic: Ragnaros (Realm First 25Man)

Finally – the firelord is dead, and we can breathe easy. This kill ends one of the worst raiding periods in Aurora Borealis history, and what a painful ride it has been. During these months of gruesome ragnarosprogress, we’ve had several skilled experienced raiders have gotten fed up, leading to testing of a ton of trials where most of them just didn’t have what is needed to raid at this level. Thankfully, just when things were looking grim, the hard recruiting and patience paid off – we got new players in, fresh blood who brought with them a second wind and the skill to keep on progressing and finally bring him to his knees.
It must be said: as an officer, I considered 10man. For a little while. When it all seemed impossible. However, after a short-lived discussion with the core raiders, we all decided that fuck it, we are a 25man guild – we kill bosses on 25man, that’s the way we roll. It took longer, and our problems with getting people to show up brought about doubt, but right now I think the whole guild would agree – this was easily worth it – we got our realm first 25man kill.
The kill itself wasn’t exactly pretty – a video will come shortly – but I still keep watching phase 4 again and again. Nevermind that it was actually the first pull of the evening, a mispull that led to a rogue dying instantly, the tankdeaths or the fact that only 8 people was alive when he fell; the tenacity we showed and calm we had in the final minutes are some of the reasons I am proud to be a member of Aurora Borealis.
Finally, a shoutout to the people who have been progressing hard with us, but missed the kill due to unexpected circumstances: Conscripted, Easyfrag, Gontier, Mindblitz, Uvel, Wadosa – you deserved to be there. Hopefully you won’t miss the fall of Deathwing 25 Heroic. That flying fuck is going down.
Now, let’s rest up for The Dragon Soul. That raid won’t know what hit it.
AURORA BOREALIS FOR HELVETTE!
